The Accessibility button carries the universal access symbol and sits in the corner you choose on every front-end page (or in the header on the ResultsAiX Theme). On the Reading tools tab you pick the corner, the size, the colour (gold, dark, white or your own) and the word on it. The panel holds five profiles (Low vision, Dyslexia, ADHD and focus, Seizure safe, Keyboard and motor), five colour modes (as designed, dark, high contrast, low colour, black and white), text size, line height, letter and word spacing, two reading fonts, alignment, ten tools (highlight links, highlight headings, big cursor, strong focus ring, reading guide, reading mask, focus on one paragraph, stop animations, hide images, bigger buttons), a map of the headings on the page, the keyboard shortcuts, and Listen with speed and voice choice. Alt + A opens it from the keyboard, Escape closes it, and the keyboard stays inside while it is open. On a phone it opens as a sheet from the bottom. The first time a visitor opens it, it asks: Anything making this hard to read? Six answers: Text is small, Hard to focus, Colours are harsh, Too bright, Read it to me, It reads fine. One tap picks the matching mode and the menu says what it did. After that the menu opens straight to the modes. The six modes: Normal (the page as designed), Comfort (bigger text, more air, shorter lines), Focus (one column, pictures hidden, nothing moves, the paragraph you are on stays bright), Large print (largest text, strongest contrast, links underlined, buttons in the page's text colour on its background), Night (a dark page with soft light), Calm (softer colour, no animation). Under them: a text size slider from 85 to 160 percent, a spacing slider, and Easier-to-read letters, which loads the Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface only when asked for. Back to normal clears everything. Every choice is stored in the visitor's own browser and applied before the page paints, so nothing flashes. Nothing about the visitor leaves the site. Cached pages are fine.
