Free HTML Pages updates through WordPress, the same way as any other plugin.
How updates arrive:
When a new version is released, WordPress shows it on the Plugins screen and on Dashboard, Updates. Click update now and WordPress does the rest. The plugin asks the ResultsAiX update server for news when you open the Plugins or Updates screens and during WordPress's own regular update checks. Updates are offered once the plugin has been activated with your name and email.
Check for an update right now:
Go to Dashboard, Updates and click Check again.
Automatic updates:
On the Plugins screen you can click Enable auto-updates next to Free HTML Pages and WordPress will install new versions for you.
What an update keeps:
Everything. Your pages, their HTML files and your settings are stored outside the plugin's own folder, so updating never touches them. After an update the plugin refreshes its address rules by itself.
Which version do I have?
The version is shown in the header bar at the top of every plugin screen, and on the Diagnostics tab.
Update by hand:
If you prefer, or if an automatic update will not run:
- Download the latest zip from your free members area at https://resultswithkevin.com/members/free-plugins/
- Go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, choose the zip and click Install Now.
- WordPress sees the plugin is already installed. Click Replace current with uploaded.
If an update does not appear:
- Click Check again on Dashboard, Updates.
- Make sure the plugin is activated. The Free HTML Pages menu with the activation screen means it is not activated yet.
- If WordPress says the licence server refused the download, open a ticket at https://kevinfahey.org/contact-support/ with your Diagnostics report.
