Is it really free?
Yes. There is no paid version and nothing is locked. You activate it with your name and email, and you can use it on unlimited sites.
Does it change my database?
No. Masking happens on the way to your browser and in your browser. Turn the switch off and every screen is back to normal. Form fields only look masked on screen and still save your real values.
Will my visitors or customers see anything different?
No. Masking only runs inside wp-admin while Privacy Recording Mode is on. Your public website, checkout and emails work exactly as normal.
Does it slow my site down?
Your public site is untouched. In wp-admin it only works while the switch is on, and it skips the server layer on pages over 2MB of code to protect performance.
Can I leave it on all the time?
You can, but it isn't recommended. The switch is site-wide, so everyone in your admin would stop seeing real customer data. The intended rhythm is switch on, record, switch off.
Does it work on other plugins' screens?
Yes. Smart Detection reads column headings, labels, avatars and the text next to email addresses, so it finds personal data on screens it has never seen. For anything it misses, use Point & Mask.
Does it work with WooCommerce?
Yes. It adds extra coverage for customer names and address lines from your recent orders, and the Email, Phone and Prices / Revenue filters cover order screens. See Using It With WooCommerce.
Who can turn it on?
Only administrators see the 🔒 Record Privacy menu and the master switch. Once it's on, it affects everyone working in wp-admin on that site.
Why are the plugin's own pages not masked?
So you can always see your real settings and mask text. That's also why you should leave the Settings screen out of your recordings: it shows the email you activated with.
Why do some masks look the same?
With the Placeholder or Asterisks style, every value of one type gets the same text by design. With Partial reveal, values that start with the same letters look alike, and with Fake data the same real value always becomes the same made-up one. Choose Partial reveal or Fake data if you want rows to stay easy to tell apart.
Can I hide the purple banner and admin bar badge for a cleaner video?
No. They're shown on every admin screen while masking is on, on purpose, so the switch is never left on by accident.
Can I change the replacement text?
Yes. With the Placeholder style, every filter card in Settings has a Custom mask box, for example demo@yourbusiness.com.
Is there a keyboard shortcut?
Press Esc to finish Point & Mask. On the activation screen, Enter moves from the name box to the email box and then activates. The master switch is a button on the Dashboard.
Does it hide data in videos I've already recorded?
No. It changes what's on your screen before you record. Anything recorded with the switch off shows real data.
What does it send to ResultsAiX?
When you activate: your name, your email and your site address, which register your free copy and add you to our update emails. After that, a licence check about once a day and update checks send your licence key, your site address and the plugin version. Your customers' data is never sent anywhere.
