There are several ways to turn WP Record With Privacy off, from a quick click to removing it completely.
- The master switch
On 📊 Dashboard, click ⏸ Turn Off Privacy Mode. Masking stops on every screen straight away, and all your settings stay ready for next time. This is what you'll use after every recording.
- The emergency off switch
If you can't reach your admin, add define( 'WRP_FORCE_OFF', true ); to wp-config.php. All masking stops whatever the Dashboard says. Remove the line when you're done.
- Deactivating the plugin
On your Plugins screen, click Deactivate under WP Record With Privacy. All masking stops and the 🔒 Record Privacy menu disappears. Your filters, style, selectors, Point & Mask picks and registration are all kept, so when you activate it again it picks up where you left off, with no activation screen.
The master switch also keeps its position. If Privacy Recording Mode was on when you deactivated, it will be on again when you reactivate. Turn it off first if you don't want that.
- Deactivate License
In ⚙️ Settings, under 🔑 License, the Deactivate License button releases this site and clears your saved name, email and key. The plugin stays installed but shows the activation screen until you activate again. Use it when you want to register the site under a different email.
- Deleting the plugin
Deactivate it first, then click Delete on the Plugins screen. WordPress removes the plugin's files.
What stays behind:
The plugin has never changed your users, orders, posts or anything else, so there is nothing to clean up in your content.
Its own settings are small entries in your WordPress options table, and deleting the plugin leaves them in place: your filter switches, mask style and character, custom mask text, Smart Detection switches, selectors, Point & Mask picks, colour scheme and registration details. If you install it again later, everything comes back as you left it. To clear your registration as well, click Deactivate License before you delete the plugin.
