The sliding banner shows your posts in a banner above the blog list. Each slide is the whole post as one click: its picture, the category, the date, the title, a line of the writing and a button. It is on by default. A post with no featured picture uses the share card the theme draws for it, so no post is left out for want of a picture.
Where it shows:
Blog, The sliding banner:
- Show the sliding banner: the master switch. Off, nothing prints anywhere, although a banner you placed on a page yourself still works.
- On the blog home: above the list, on the first page only.
- On category and tag pages: each page shows its own posts.
A static front page or any other page takes the Sliding Banner block from the + inserter, or the [raix_slider] shortcode.
Which posts:
- The newest posts: from every category, newest first. This is the default.
- From the categories ticked below.
- Only posts marked for the banner: posts set to Yes, always on their Banner tab.
- Sticky posts only.
How many slides can be set from 1 to 12, and the default is 6.
Per post and per category:
- On a post's edit screen, the Banner tab (the ResultsAiX Banner box if you keep boxes in the side column) offers Site default, Yes, always, or No, never. A post set to No, never stays out whatever the site setting is.
- Under Posts, Categories, edit a category and tick Keep this category's posts out of the sliding banner. That category's own page then shows no banner either. A post marked Yes, always still slides.
The look:
- The words beside the whole picture: the picture shows complete, never cropped. This is the default, and right for pictures that carry their own words.
- The words over the picture: the picture fills the banner and the words sit on a dark fade at the bottom. Tall or narrow pictures are cropped.
- Height: Short, Medium or Tall. The button word defaults to Read the guide.
- Switches for Edge to edge (off matches the width of your pages, with rounded corners), A line of the writing, Category and date, Previous and Next arrows, and Dots for each slide.
How it moves:
Slide on its own every sets the seconds between slides, 6 by default, and 0 means it only moves when pressed. A thin line along the top shows the countdown. It pauses while the pointer or the keyboard is on it, swipes on a phone, answers the arrow keys and has a pause button. Visitors whose device asks for less motion get no automatic sliding.
The card shows a live preview drawn from your newest post as you change the settings. Press Save Blog to keep them.
On a page, [raix_slider count="6" category="" source="latest" autoplay="6" height="medium" bleed="yes" label="Read the guide"] builds a banner with its own settings. The Shortcode Studio builds this line for you.
