Press Open on any row in the Library and you are in the editor. The email is on the left, the tools are on the right.
The email
- Title, for your eyes only: the name you see in the library. It is never sent.
- Subject lines, one per line. Three is the house shape. Up to eight are kept.
- Preheader, the second line every inbox shows.
- Body: plain text. In a browser with a speech engine a Talk button sits above it, and dictation adds to what is already typed.
- Notes to yourself. Never sent.
Above the form you see the file the email came from, if it was imported, its key, and how many times it has been loaded into the Mailer. On the right of that row are two toggles: Star it, which tells the writer to read this email first, in full, whenever it writes, and Mark as style reference, which makes it a benchmark for your voice. Both save at once, with no reload.
The buttons
- Save: saves the email and runs the house rules.
- Copy the body: puts the body on your clipboard.
- Put my details in: shown while the email still holds [YOUR NAME], [SIGN OFF], [SUPPORT LINK] or [MEMBER LOGIN LINK]. It fills them from Your details on the Settings tab. Save to keep the result.
- Send to the Mailer as a draft: shown when ResultsAiX Mailer is on the site.
- Delete: asks first. It removes the email and its revision history from the library. An original .txt file on disk is not touched.
Filed as
Purpose, product, level and tags are what the Mailer picker searches on, so this card is worth ten seconds.
- Purpose: one of the twelve purposes.
- Product: the list holds the products you added on the Your products tab, plus No single product. For an email that is not about one product, choose No single product and use tags.
- Membership level: type one or pick a level found on this site. Leave it empty for any level.
- Tags, comma separated: saved in lower case with spaces turned into hyphens, up to 25 per email.
- Audience note: who this one is really for.
- Status: Draft, Ready to send, Live in the autoresponder or Retired.
- Send when: a note such as day 2.
- Key, how other screens find it: a short readable name. It stays the same when you rename the email, and a number is added if two emails would share one.
House rules and AI
The House rules card shows the score out of 100 and every finding. Check what is on screen scores your unsaved draft. The AI card holds Subject lab, Audit, Rewrite and Repurpose, and names the voice it is writing in.
History
Every version before an edit, a restore or an AI rewrite is kept. The History card lists the last twelve, each with what made it, the date, its word count and a Restore button. Restore asks first, then puts that version's subject lines, preheader and body back into the email. The version that was in the email a moment ago is kept in History as well, so a restore can be undone the same way. Unsaved edits on screen are not kept.
Saving from the editor also makes the email yours: reading its original file again on the Import and export tab leaves it exactly as you left it.
