Some businesses run on more than one WordPress: the membership on one site, the list and everything else on another. An email written on either one still needs the facts from both, so ResultsAiX Email can go on both sites and link them. Activating the licence on both uses two of your three slots.
Core and satellite
On the Family data tab, What this site is offers two roles.
- Core, the library lives here: where emails are written and kept. It gathers facts and level names from every linked site.
- Satellite, it just contributes its data: it answers the core's requests. Its Mailer picker can still browse the core's library when its own is empty.
Which one should be core: the site the Mailer is on. Writing an email and loading it into a broadcast is the daily job, and it wants to be one screen, not two sites.
Linking them
- On the other site open AiX Email, Family data and set What this site is to Satellite.
- Under This site's link token press Show, then Copy.
- On the core site open Family data and go to Add a site. Fill in Call it, Its address, for example https://members.yoursite.com, and Its token.
- Press Link it. The link is tested straight away and a message says what it found: the site name, its role, how many emails it holds and which sources it can see.
What travels
Facts, level names and the library listing. Never subscriber rows, never keys. It is read only in both directions and nothing is ever written to the other site.
What you will notice
- Level names from the other site appear in the membership level fields.
- In the facts block, anything from the other site is labelled with the site it came from, so two sites' numbers are never blended into one sentence. Facts from linked sites are refreshed hourly.
- Overview lists your linked sites, marked linked or off, and Diagnostics tests each one.
Managing a link
Each linked site has a Test button and a remove button. Unlinking changes nothing on either site. They just stop talking.
Make a new one replaces this site's token. The old one stops working the moment you do, so any site using it has to be given the new one.
