A still picture with a gentle camera movement is free and works for every scene. Moving clips are an optional extra: Google Veo turns a scene's picture into an 8 second clip with natural gestures and a living background, such as people walking past or a bartender at work.
What you need:
A Google Gemini key with billing turned on. Google does not make moving clips on a free key.
What it costs (each clip, billed by Google):
- Veo Lite: about 40 cents
- Veo Fast: about 80 cents
- Veo best quality: about $3.20, for a finished video only
On a phone, Veo Lite looks nearly the same as best quality. Start with Lite.
How to use it:
- In step 2, set Movement to the Veo option you want.
- Make the scene pictures first: a moving clip starts from the scene's picture.
- Click Make everything, or Make it move on one scene.
Clips are made one at a time. If you choose Veo best quality, an extra box shows the full cost and offers Veo Lite instead.
Google's limits:
Google limits how many clips a key can make, per minute and per day, and newer accounts get only a few.
- Per minute: the plugin waits exactly as long as Google asks, then carries on by itself.
- Per day: the plugin says so at once with the time the allowance resets, switches this video's Movement to Still picture so you can still finish and export it, and you switch it back the next day.
Your limits and usage are on Google's rate limit page (ai.dev/rate-limit). Google raises them as your account builds up history.
Background sound:
When Movement is on, Background sound sets how loud each clip's own sound plays under the voices.
