Step 1 of the Animated Story panel is Your cast. Characters are saved once and can be used in every story you make.
Create a character:
- Click New character.
- Type a Name.
- Describe How they look: age, hair, eyes, clothes and colours. The more exact, the more alike every scene.
- Pick a Voice. Your own cloned voices are under My cloned voices; the built-in voices are below them. The voices come from the Voice Engine, so keep it open.
- Pick a Look: 3D animated (Pixar style), cartoon, anime, clay or realistic.
- Click Save character.
Their picture:
Each character gets one reference picture that every scene copies them from, so they look the same throughout the video. It is made the first time you make the scenes, or when you click Edit on their card and then Make their picture. Change their look, then click Make a new picture in the same place.
Use your own photo:
Instead of a described look, a character can be a real person. Tick the box that it is you, or someone who has given you permission to use their face, then click Use my own photo and pick a JPG, PNG or WebP picture. That photo becomes the reference, so every scene keeps their face. Choose Realistic to look real, or a cartoon look for a cartoon version of them. The permission tick is required and is kept with the character.
Pick who is in this video:
Click a character's picture to tick them for the current video.
- One character: a talk-to-camera video. The button says Write the script.
- Two to four characters: a conversation. The button says Write the conversation.
Realistic people, used honestly:
Use realistic characters as presenters or hosts. Never show a made-up customer giving results: a fake testimonial is illegal in many countries (in the US under the FTC rule on fake reviews), and YouTube and Meta also ask you to label realistic AI people as AI.
