Will it slow my site down?
No. Nothing loads on the front end unless a campaign actually matches the page. If none match, no stylesheet and no script is enqueued at all. The runtime is plain JavaScript with no jQuery and no framework, scroll and idle handlers are throttled, and every listener that can be passive is passive.
Does it work with page caching?
Yes, and it is built for it. Device, new versus returning, and frequency capping are all decided in the browser, so a page served byte identical from a cache still behaves correctly for every individual visitor. The public lead route does not depend on a nonce for the same reason.
What happens if my licence lapses?
Your campaigns and your leads are kept. The admin screens lock until you renew, and campaigns stop showing on the front end until the licence is active again. Nothing is deleted.
Where are my leads stored?
In a table in your own WordPress database. They survive an uninstall and reinstall unless you deliberately switch on Delete all Engage data when the plugin is deleted in Settings.
Do the AI features cost extra?
They use your own provider key. Gemini has a genuinely free key with no card required, so they can cost you nothing to run. OpenAI and Claude bill you directly at their usual rates. Engage adds nothing on top.
Do I need PRO to capture leads?
No. Every campaign type, every trigger, every targeting rule, all 36 autoresponder connectors, the webhook, lead storage and CSV export are Core. PRO adds the AI layer on top: the AI copywriter, the AI campaign builder and dynamic text replacement.
Can I use it on a page that is not WordPress?
Yes. Switch on embedding for a published campaign, copy the one line snippet, and paste it into any page on any site. Leads and clicks come back to your WordPress site.
How many sites does one key cover?
Three. The License tab has a Deactivate On This Site button that frees a seat so you can move it.
Does it support split testing?
Not yet. Split testing, geo targeting and spin to win are listed on the PRO tab with a soon badge and are planned rather than built. Everything documented in this guide is working today.
