⚙ Settings Explained

The Settings tab has two cards: how the admin screens look, and how Engage behaves on your site.

Appearance:

Choose one of 10 colour schemes for the Engage admin screens: WordPress Native, Results Amber, Clean White, Ivory Cream, Snow Light, Developer Dark, Midnight Blue, Ocean Blue, Sunset Warm and Rose Pink. It saves as soon as you pick one, and it changes nothing on your website.

Behaviour, seven toggles:

  • Send opt-ins to WP Sync. On by default. Every campaign appears in WP Sync as a source so leads can flow on to anything it connects to. Engage still delivers to its own connections either way.
  • Track clicks with WP Conversion Tracker. On by default. Sends campaign clicks to WP Conversion Tracker when it is installed.
  • Load the Outfit font in wp-admin. On by default. Turn it off if your site must not call Google Fonts. The admin screens fall back to your system font.
  • Respect Do Not Track. Off by default. Skips recording views and clicks for visitors whose browser sends the header. Campaigns still display normally.
  • Store the IP address with each lead. Off by default. Only turn it on if you have a lawful reason to keep it, and say so in your privacy policy.
  • Allow exit intent on mobile. Off by default and best left off. A phone has no real exit intent, so it ends up firing on a back gesture and reads as a trap. Desktop exit intent is unaffected.
  • Delete all Engage data when the plugin is deleted. Off by default.

About that last one:

Leave it off and your campaigns, statistics and leads survive an uninstall and reinstall. Deleting a plugin is very often a troubleshooting step rather than a goodbye. Turning it on wipes them permanently when the plugin is deleted.

Your licence key and status are always kept either way, so reinstalling never sends you hunting for your purchase receipt.
