AWeber has its own card at the top of the Autoresponders tab because it is the quickest connection in the plugin. There are no API keys, no OAuth screens and no token refreshes.
Finding your AWeber list ID:
- Log in to AWeber.
- Open List Options in the sidebar.
- Open List Settings.
- Copy the value labelled Unique List ID. It looks like awlist followed by digits.
Saving it:
- Paste the list ID into the AWeber List Name field.
- Optionally enter one or more default tags, separated by commas.
- Click Save AWeber List Name.
Saving this form does two things at once: it stores the list ID and it sets AWeber Legacy as your default provider. A green confirmation shows the active list.
Use the Unique List ID, not the display name. The display name is the single most common cause of AWeber opt-ins that appear to submit but never arrive.
Tagging subscribers:
The default tag field applies your chosen tags to everyone who opts in through any funnel using AWeber Legacy. Any funnel can override this with its own tag on the funnel edit screen, which is how you segment by report topic. Leave the field empty for no tagging at all.
Bulk applying the list and tags:
Once AWeber is active, two pairs of buttons appear. One pair applies your list to funnels without a list, or to all funnels. The other pair does the same with your default tags. The without a list and without a tag variants are the safe ones, since they never overwrite a choice you already made.
How does the AWeber form actually submit?
The visitor's browser posts to AWeber's own form endpoint and is then returned to your download page. The lead is also written to the plugin's local database, so you have a copy either way.
Double opt-in note:
If your AWeber list uses confirmed opt-in, new subscribers sit in the unconfirmed list until they click the confirmation email. If a test opt-in does not show up in your main list, check there before assuming the connection is broken.
