The Tracking button above the preview sets tracking for the funnel you are looking at. The Settings tab has Tracking Defaults, which is what every new funnel starts with. Anything left empty on a funnel falls back to the default, so a pixel is pasted once and used everywhere.
The four built in pixels:
- Meta Pixel ID, which looks like 1234567890123456
- Google Analytics 4 ID, which looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX
- Google Tag Manager ID, which looks like GTM-XXXXXXX
- TikTok Pixel ID, which looks like CXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Anything else you need:
Open Add Your Own Code underneath and you get a Head code box and a Body code box. Paste whatever you were given, exactly as it was given to you, script tags and all. Another ad platform, a heatmap, a chat widget.
Conversion events:
Leave the conversion event box ticked and an optin fires Meta Lead, GA4 generate_lead and TikTok SubmitForm. Without that, your ad platforms are optimising blind: they can see clicks but not results, which is the most common reason a campaign never learns.
Where tracking runs, and where it does not:
Tracking runs on published pages and on exported pages. It never runs inside the builder preview, so your own editing and previewing does not pollute your numbers or fire fake conversions at your ad account.
A sensible order to set this up:
- Put your main pixels into Tracking Defaults on the Settings tab, once.
- Leave the per funnel boxes empty unless a particular funnel needs a different pixel.
- Publish the funnel, then load a page and check the pixel fires with your platform's own browser extension.
- Opt in to your own form once and confirm the conversion event arrives.
