🗂️ File Management: Where Your Books Live

Knowing where the files are makes backups, cleanups and manual fixes straightforward.

Page images:

Every generated page and every character reference sheet is saved into your normal WordPress media library as an attachment, with the prompt stored alongside it. Page images are named after the project and page number, and character sheets after the project, so they are easy to find in the media grid.

Exported files:

Each book gets its own folder inside your WordPress uploads directory, under a rap-books folder, named with the project ID. Inside that folder you will find:

  • interior.pdf, the print interior
  • cover.pdf, the wraparound cover
  • digital.pdf, the combined cover and interior edition
  • pages.zip, every page image
  • front-cover.jpg, the front only cover image at 1600 pixels wide
  • an empty index.php file, which is a standard silence file and should be left alone

The folder is created on the first export for that book and the files are overwritten by each subsequent export.

Deleting a book:

The Delete button on the My Books table removes the project and its page rows. Treat it as final and export anything you want to keep first.

Do my files depend on the license?

No. Your books, your projects and your exported files live on your own site and stay there. The license controls access to the plugin admin, not access to work you have already produced.

Because exports are written into the uploads directory, they are covered by whatever backup routine already covers your uploads folder. If you produce a lot of books, that folder grows, so it is worth pruning old projects you have already published.
