🧙 The New Book Wizard Step By Step

The New Book tab runs a short wizard. The step strip at the top shows Book Type, Idea and Style, Pages and Create, then Generate.

Step one, book type:

Four cards: Coloring Book, Activity Book, Journal or Planner, Story Book. Clicking a card sets the trim size, the default page count and whether the character step is required.

Step two, idea and style:

  • Book Title: optional. Leave it blank and the AI story writer can name the book for you, or the listing kit will suggest titles later.
  • Your Idea, Premise or Main Character: the single most important field. For story books describe what the character physically looks like. For coloring and activity books describe the theme.
  • Age Range: Ages 2 to 4, Ages 4 to 8, Ages 8 to 12, Teens or Adults. Ages 4 to 8 is the default and it is passed to the writer as the reading level.
  • Art Style: Classic Cartoon, Cute Kawaii, Bold Simple or Storybook Watercolor. The style is stored on the project and appended to every single page prompt, so the whole book shares one look.
  • Lock a character for this book: a checkbox that appears for coloring and activity books when you have a reference capable provider key saved. Story books always run the character step, so no checkbox is shown for them.

Step three, pages and create:

Set the number of pages. The field accepts 4 to 300 and pre fills with the default for your book type. Trim size, bleed, margins and gutter are set automatically and are not editable here. Click Create Book.

What happens after Create Book?

If the project needs a character, the wizard moves to the character approval panel. Otherwise it goes straight to the generation panel, builds the page plan and hands it to the background queue. From there the progress bar and the page grid update as pages complete.
