📈 Search Insights: What Your Visitors Look For

The Insights screen turns your search box into a research tool. It shows you, in your own words, what your audience is actually looking for.

The four numbers at the top, for the last 7 days:

  • Searches: how many searches were made
  • Unique Terms: how many different phrases were used
  • No-Result Searches: how many searches came back empty
  • Result Clicks: how many times someone clicked a result

Search Volume:

A bar chart of the last 14 days, so you can see the effect of a launch, a mailing or a new piece of content at a glance.

Top Searches:

Your most frequent searches over the last 30 days, ranked, with a bar showing relative popularity. This tells you what your audience cares about most, which is useful for planning content, offers and navigation.

What They Cannot Find:

The most valuable panel on the screen. See the separate article on zero result searches.

Turning recording on or off:

Recording is on by default. You can switch it off in Settings with the Record searches for the Insights tab option. With it off, no searches are stored and the Insights screen stops collecting new data.

Clearing your data:

The Clear Search Log button at the bottom of Insights permanently deletes every recorded search. This cannot be undone.

Your full search history is kept, so the longer you run the plugin the more useful your trends become.
