⏰ Deadlines, Expiry And Chasing Signatures

Setting a deadline:

Every document gets an expiry date. The default comes from Settings, where it starts at 30 days, and it can be overridden per document on the edit screen with any value from 1 to 365 days. The expiry date shows on the Documents list and on the document's status page while it is out for signature.

What happens at the deadline:

A daily background job checks for documents that are still out for signature and past their expiry, marks them Expired and records that in the audit trail. A signer who opens their link after that point sees a clear message saying the document passed its signing deadline and to ask the sender to issue a new one. Duplicate the document and send a fresh copy.

The invitation email includes the deadline, so signers know from the start how long they have.

Chasing signatures manually:

On the document's status page, Resend Invite emails the same private link again to any signer who has not yet signed, and the resend is recorded in the audit trail. Copy Signing Link lets you deliver it through another channel entirely.

Automatic reminders, PRO:

With the PRO plugin licensed, set a reminder interval in Settings, in days, from 0 to 30. Zero turns reminders off. The daily job then emails a polite nudge to anyone who has not signed, and it will not send again until the interval has passed since the last invitation, resend or reminder for that signer. Each reminder is written into the audit trail.

Who does not get chased:

Signers who have already signed and signers who have declined are never contacted. In sequential mode, signers whose turn has not arrived yet are skipped too, because they have not been invited at all.

The reminder email restates the sender, the document title, the deadline, and carries the same Review and Sign button as the original invitation.

If a document is dead rather than late, void it. Voiding is immediate, records your reason in the audit trail, and any signer opening their link afterwards sees a message saying the sender has withdrawn the document and no further action is needed.
