Adding signers:
Each signer row on the edit screen takes a full name, an email address and an optional access code. Add as many rows as the deal needs. The number badge on the left is that signer's position, and it is what the field tags in the document refer to. Single signer documents such as waivers, releases and quote acceptances only need signer 1, which is the person signing.
Signing order, in order:
In sequential mode only signer 1 is emailed when you send. The moment they finish, the next signer still waiting is invited automatically, and so on down the list. Use it when you counter-sign after the client, when approvals must genuinely happen in sequence, or when a manager signs last.
Signing order, all at once:
In parallel mode every signer is emailed immediately and can sign in any order. Use it when speed matters and the order does not, for example several partners signing the same NDA.
In sequential mode, a later signer who opens their link early is not blocked from reading the document. They see a friendly note explaining that it is not their turn yet, without a signature pad, and they receive an email the moment it becomes their turn. The server enforces this too, so an early submission is refused.
Access codes, optional and per signer:
Type a code into a signer's Access code box and they must enter it before the document will open. Share that code through a different channel from the email, a phone call or a text message, so that a forwarded email on its own is not enough to open the contract. Once entered correctly, the code is remembered on that device for two hours so the signer is not asked again mid-session. The invitation email mentions that a code exists but never contains it.
CC on completion:
Any addresses in the CC box in the Invitation section receive the final signed PDF when the document completes, without being signers themselves. Useful for an accountant, a partner or a shared records inbox.
Signer rows can be edited freely while the document is still a draft. Once it has been sent, the signer list is locked along with the content.
