🎬 Destination Actions Beyond Adding To A List

Every destination on a bridge has an action. The default action is Add to list, and every connection supports at least that. Many built in autoresponders support more.

The five actions the engine understands:

  • Add to list. Subscribe the contact to the chosen list, sequence or audience.
  • Add tag. Apply a tag to the contact on the destination platform.
  • Remove tag. Take a tag off the contact.
  • Update fields only. Write the mapped name and custom field values without changing the contact's list membership.
  • Unsubscribe from list. Remove the contact from the chosen list.

Which actions you will see:

The builder only offers the actions the chosen connection actually implements, so you can never save a bridge that asks a platform to do something it cannot. At version 1.0.88 the majority of the built in autoresponder connections declare more than the default, with ActiveCampaign as a full example offering all five.

Why this matters:

Actions turn WP Sync from a copier into a small automation engine. A refund event from a sales platform can remove a customer tag rather than adding a contact. A booking can update fields on somebody already on your list rather than re-subscribing them. A cancellation can unsubscribe from a members only list.

Actions with no list:

Some connections declare actions that need no list at all. Where that is the case the builder hides the list picker and stops requiring it, so you are not forced to pick something irrelevant.

Combining with No source:

An action bridge with No source set is the pattern for firing from a click or a conversion. You build the destination and its action, save it, then attach it wherever the trigger lives.
