AI is optional. With your own key connected on the Integrations & AI tab, it does two jobs. It drafts and it summarises. It never publishes anything by itself.
Describe it, AI builds it:
At the top of the builder, type what you need into the box, for example: a quote request form for a roofing company with contact details, property address, roof type, budget range and photos of the damage. Click "Build it with AI". You will see "The AI is designing your form. This usually takes a few seconds." and then "Draft ready. Review the fields below, adjust anything, then Save."
The draft fills the canvas with fields, options, required flags and half width pairs, and the live preview shows how it will look. It also fills the form name if it is empty, and the thank you heading and message. If the canvas already has fields you are asked "Replace the current fields with the AI draft?" first. As the hint says, "Nothing is saved or published until you click Save."
Talk instead of typing:
In Chrome and Safari a "Talk" button sits next to the AI button. It uses your browser's own speech engine, so nothing is uploaded anywhere and it costs nothing. What you say is added to whatever is already in the box. Click "Stop" when you are done.
AI Insights:
On the AI Insights tab, pick a form and click "Analyze with AI". It can take up to a minute. You get a short summary, a list of "Findings" based on your numbers, and "Recommended next actions". The result is saved with its date, and the button changes to "Re-analyze with AI" so you can refresh it after new entries arrive. A form needs at least one entry first.
Insights always cover every entry the form has ever received, and the page says so. Under a saved result you see when it was made, for example "Analyzed 3 Oct 2026 14:20, over all entries up to then." Entries that arrive later are included the next time you re-analyze.
What the AI is sent:
- Totals for each choice and rating averages.
- Short samples of the written answers from Single line text and Paragraph text fields, with any email address or phone number inside them masked.
- The attribution picture: traffic sources, top campaigns, devices, how many visitors started the form and the average fill time.
Names, email fields, phone fields, addresses, uploaded files and hidden fields are never sent. Everything goes to your own AI provider and nowhere else.
When AI hits a problem:
If a call fails you see the provider's own words, for example "You exceeded your current quota", together with what to do next. The Integrations & AI tab keeps the reason under each failed job and shows the last error on the provider's card until the next call works. If you have set a monthly soft budget and passed it, a short warning also appears in the builder and on AI Insights. AI keeps working; the warning is only a heads up.
Without a key:
The AI box in the builder shows a note pointing you to the Integrations & AI tab, and it adds: "Building by hand works fine without it." The "Answer breakdown" charts on the AI Insights tab still show the counts for every choice and rating field, with the average for ratings.
