Every submission lands on the Entries tab, newest first, 25 to a page. New entries arrive marked as unread, and the Dashboard counts them under "Unread entries".
Finding entries:
- The first dropdown narrows the list to one form. Each form shows its entry count.
- "All sources" filters by traffic source, for example only Paid traffic.
- The search box looks through names, emails and answers.
- The links above the list switch between All, Unread, Read and Starred.
What each entry shows in the list:
The name and email (or "Anonymous" when the form had neither), the form, the date and time, a traffic source badge, the campaign, the device and browser, and how long the form took, for example "filled in 48s". Then the first six answers, with long answers shortened, and when there are more, a line such as "+ 3 more answered fields: open the full entry". Under that: "Submitted on:" with the page, and "Came from:" with the referring site. An uploaded file shows as a link with its file name.
Open full entry:
Click "Open full entry" on any entry to see everything on one screen:
- "Answers": every field on the form in order, with "no answer" where the visitor left one blank, consent shown as Agreed, star ratings shown as stars, and line breaks in long answers kept. Answers to fields you have since removed from the form are still listed, marked "(no longer on the form)".
- "Where this lead came from": the traffic source, all five UTM values, the page it was submitted on, the site the visitor came from, the device with browser and operating system, the time to fill, and the click id when the lead came through a WP Conversion Tracker link.
- Any uploaded files, as private links.
The same actions as the list sit at the bottom, and "Back to entries" takes you back to where you were.
Uploaded files are private:
File links open only for a logged in administrator of your site. If you are logged out, WordPress asks you to log in and then opens the file. The same private link is in your notification email.
Actions on one entry:
- The star marks the ones worth following up.
- "Mark read" and "Mark unread".
- "Reply by email" opens your mail app addressed to the visitor.
- "Customer insight" opens the buyer panel described in the article on working with your other plugins.
- "Delete" asks first and removes the entry along with any files uploaded with it.
Bulk actions:
Tick entries, or "Select all", choose Mark read, Mark unread, Star, Unstar or Delete from "Bulk action…", and click "Apply". The counter beside it shows how many are selected.
Export CSV:
Pick one form in the first dropdown and an "Export CSV (with attribution)" button appears. The same export is on each row of the Forms tab as "Export CSV". The file is named after the form and contains every entry for it, whatever filters are on screen. Columns: Date, Name, Email, one column per field, then Source, UTM Source, UTM Medium, UTM Campaign, UTM Term, UTM Content, Device, Browser, OS, Page, Referrer and Seconds To Submit. Checkbox answers are joined with commas. HTML blocks and Section breaks hold no answers, so they have no column.
Opening the export in a spreadsheet:
The file opens cleanly in Excel with a double click, accents and other special characters included, as well as in Google Sheets, Numbers and LibreOffice. Anything a visitor typed that looks like a spreadsheet formula, such as an answer starting with an equals sign, is stored as plain text, so opening the file never runs something a stranger typed into your form.
