At the top of the builder, describe your goal in one or two sentences, or press the Talk button and simply say it. Say who you are asking and what decision you are trying to make. Pick how many questions you want, 5, 7, 10 or 12, and click Generate Survey. It usually takes 10 to 30 seconds.
What a good brief looks like:
I sell WordPress plugins to online marketers. I want to find out why trial users do not upgrade, which features they actually miss, and how likely they are to recommend us.
That gives the model an audience and a decision. Compare it to "ask about my plugin", which gives it nothing to work with and produces a generic draft.
What AI writes for you:
- The survey title
- The questions, with answer options where the question type needs them
- Which questions should be required
- The email opt in heading and the thank you page copy
AI drafts, you approve:
Nothing AI writes is saved or published automatically. It fills the builder and the survey only exists once you click Save. Blank fields are filled in and your own typed title or goal is never overwritten. The model is instructed to keep questions short, specific and neutral rather than leading, and to order them easy to answer first with open text last, which is what keeps completion rates high.
The Talk button:
Talking costs nothing. It uses your browser's own speech engine, so nothing is uploaded anywhere and it never touches your AI key or budget. Dictation adds to whatever you already typed instead of wiping it, and pressing the button again stops listening. The button only appears in browsers that support speech (Chrome and Safari do, Firefox does not) and on secure https sites.
Design included:
The draft covers the whole survey, not just the words: a suggested accent color that suits your topic, a light or dark card theme, and an email opt-in mode to match the goal in your brief. Each suggestion lands in a normal builder field, so you see it and can change it before anything is saved.
