✉️ Email Opt-Ins: Turning Answers Into Subscribers

Under Email opt-in on the builder, choose how the email step behaves. It appears after the last question and before the answers are submitted, which is the highest intent moment in the whole survey: they have already invested effort and want to know they were heard.

The three modes:

  • Off: never asks. Fully anonymous feedback.
  • Optional: asks, but visitors can leave it blank and still submit. The safest default for honest feedback.
  • Required: a valid email is needed to submit. Highest capture rate, but expect some drop off at the last step.

The copy you control:

  • Opt-in heading: give them a reason. Where should we send your results beats Enter your email every time.
  • Button text: the final submit button, for example Submit My Answers.
  • Privacy note: the small reassurance line under the field.
  • Also ask for a first name: one extra field, and it makes your follow up emails personal.

Opt-ins are flagged in your Responses list and counted on the Dashboard, so you always know how many subscribers a survey has actually earned you. They are stored with the response and included in your CSV export whether or not WP Sync is installed.
