On the survey builder screen, tick Also show this survey as a site wide popup. The same survey then appears in a centered overlay across your site without you placing a shortcode anywhere.
Triggers:
- Exit intent, recommended: it opens when the visitor mouse leaves the top of the window, the moment they are about to go. It costs you nothing in reading time.
- After a delay: opens after the number of seconds you set, between 3 and 120.
The manners it enforces for you:
- Once per visitor. Once someone has seen it, it never opens for them again on that browser.
- Desktop only. Automatic popups never fire for mobile or touch visitors. This is deliberate and not configurable, because mobile popups hurt your rankings and irritate readers.
- Easy to dismiss. The close button, a click on the background, or the Escape key all close it.
- One at a time. If several surveys have popup mode on, only one shows: the most recently updated Active one.
Popup mode and the shortcode are not either/or. A common setup is a short two question popup running site wide for passive feedback, plus a longer survey embedded on a dedicated page you link to from your emails.
