When someone asks your site a question, the Answer Box writes a short answer from your own indexed content and shows it above the results, with links to the pages it used.
Turn it on:
In PRO Settings, tick Show an answer above the results for question-like searches, and make sure an AI key is connected.
Where it appears:
On your full search results page. It deliberately does not run in the small dropdown, because the dropdown fires as the visitor types and one AI call per keystroke would be slow for them and wasteful for you.
Which searches get an answer:
Anything that reads like a question, meaning it ends in a question mark or starts with words like what, how, where, why, can or does. Longer searches also qualify once they pass the minimum length you set.
It only uses your content:
The model is given the top matching pages from your index and told to answer using only those. If your pages do not answer the question, no answer box is shown rather than an invented one.
Caching:
Leave Cache answers switched on. Answers are remembered for a day, so a popular question costs one call rather than hundreds. This keeps you comfortably inside a free tier.
Settings you can change:
- Answer Heading: the small label above the answer, Answer by default
- Minimum Length: how long a non question search must be before it earns an answer
