How your confirmation, reminder and follow up emails leave your site is set on the Email screen, in the Email Sending card. Set this up before your first webinar, because the join link only reaches people by email.

The sending methods:

  • ResultsAiX Mailer (this site). Offered only when ResultsAiX Mailer is installed on the same site. Every webinar email goes out through the providers you already set up there, including Mailer's automatic fallback if one of them fails. There is nothing to configure here.
  • WordPress default. Uses whatever WordPress already uses, such as an SMTP plugin you run. On a plain shared host it sends straight from the web server, which is a common reason mail lands in spam or never arrives.
  • Your own SMTP server. Host, port, username, password and encryption, TLS on port 587 or SSL on port 465. Gmail and Microsoft 365 need an app password rather than your normal login.
  • SendGrid, with an API key. Verify your sending domain, not just one address.
  • Mailgun, with an API key, your sending domain and your region, US or EU.
  • Amazon SES, Postmark, Resend, SparkPost, Mailjet, Brevo (Sendinblue), Elastic Email and SMTP2GO, each with the key or token that provider issues.

Each method has a short walkthrough headed How To Get Your Key In 60 Seconds, with the exact menu path and the mistake people usually make.

The From details:

Set the From name, the From email and an optional Reply to address, which is where replies go if it should not be the From address. Use an address at your own domain.

Send a test email:

Press Send a test email to send a real message to your WordPress admin address through the method you selected. It shows exactly what the provider said, and it remembers the result of the last test. Save your settings first, because the test reads what is stored. If the method you picked is missing something, the card says what, and until you fill it in your emails fall back to WordPress mail.

Getting into the inbox, not the spam folder:

  • Send from your own domain. A From address at gmail.com or yahoo.com is rejected or junked by most inboxes now.
  • The From address and the domain you verified with your provider must match. If you verified yourdomain.com, send as you@yourdomain.com.
  • Add the SPF and DKIM records your provider gives you. It takes ten minutes once and is the biggest single thing you can do for delivery.
  • Send yourself a test after any change, and check the spam folder as well as the inbox.

If something goes wrong:

When a send fails, the reason the provider gave is recorded, and Diagnostics shows it. Diagnostics also tells you if emails have gone out through WordPress mail instead of the provider you chose, which is the quietest way for delivery to fail.
