Recorded mode plays a video of yours on a schedule, locked to the session clock so it behaves like a live airing.
Where your video lives:
The Content tab asks where your video is and shows help for each choice. Big files are best kept on a host built for video, with the link pasted in, so your room streams it without touching your server.
- Direct file link. An MP4 or WebM on Amazon S3, Bunny, Cloudflare R2, DigitalOcean Spaces or any CDN. Paste the public link ending in .mp4 or .webm. This is the best quality choice and has no upload limit.
- Vimeo. Paste any Vimeo link. Set the video to unlisted or hide it from vimeo.com so only your attendees can watch, and turn off the download button in your Vimeo privacy settings.
- YouTube (unlisted). Paste an unlisted YouTube link. It is free and unlimited, but YouTube branding shows briefly and viewers can find related videos at the end, so use unlisted rather than public.
- HLS stream. A .m3u8 link from Cloudflare Stream, Bunny Stream, Mux or a saved live broadcast. Best for long or very large videos because it adapts to each viewer's connection.
- This site. Record in your browser, or pick a video already in your WordPress Media Library. Fine for short videos, but shared hosting usually caps uploads well below a full webinar.
The editor warns you if a pasted link does not look like the source you picked, and switches the source for you when it can tell.
Video length:
For direct files the editor probes the video and fills in the length for you, and if you leave the duration at 0 the room reads the real length from the video itself. Embedded YouTube and Vimeo links cannot be probed, so type the length in seconds yourself.
Recording in your browser:
Click Record in browser, choose camera, screen, or screen with a camera bubble in the corner, and use start, pause, resume and stop. A timer shows how long you have been recording.
How the recorder handles long sessions:
Where the browser supports it, the recorder asks you where to save the file and streams the recording straight to disk as it records instead of holding it in memory. If that is not available it keeps the recording in memory and warns you after thirty minutes that a long recording may run short of memory.
Getting the recording into the webinar:
When you stop, you can download the file or click Use as this webinar recording. The upload is sent to your site in two megabyte chunks, which gets around the single file upload limits many hosts impose, and the finished file is added to your Media Library and set as this webinar's video.
On shared hosting:
If your host limits uploads or serves large files slowly, download the recording, host it on a fast video host, and paste that link into the Video URL field instead. The recorder tells you the same thing if a chunk upload is refused.
Why the length matters:
The duration you set is what the room uses to decide when the session has ended, when to trigger the end of session segmentation, and when the follow up emails are queued. Make sure it matches the real video length.
