WP Conversion Tracker and all of its add ons hook into the standard WordPress update system, so there is no separate updater screen to learn and no manual zip juggling for routine releases.
Updating:
- Go to Dashboard, then Updates, in WordPress admin, or open the Plugins screen.
- WP Conversion Tracker appears with an Update Now action when a new version is available.
- Click Update. The new version installs in place.
The Update Notice:
When an update is pending, a notice appears on the main WordPress Dashboard, on the Plugins screen, and on every WCT page. It names the version you are on and the version available, and carries an Update Now button.
Snoozing:
If now is a bad moment, click Snooze for 7 days. The notice disappears for a week and then returns. The snooze is per user, so it does not hide the notice from your colleagues.
Updates Need An Active License:
Update checks are authenticated against your license. If a license lapses, the tracking you already have in place keeps working, you simply stop receiving new versions until it is renewed.
Add Ons Update The Same Way:
Each add on carries its own update checker and appears on the Plugins screen alongside the core plugin. They are separate WordPress plugins, so they can be at different versions from each other, which is normal.
Update The Core Plugin First:
If you are updating several pieces at once, update WP Conversion Tracker before the add ons. Add ons check for a minimum core version and will refuse to load with a clear notice if the core is too old, which is the usual cause of a critical error message straight after installing an add on.
If An Update Never Appears:
The most common cause is a security layer between your site and the update server. If your site is behind Cloudflare, run the ☁️ Cloudflare Diagnostic on the Diagnostics tab, because a blocking rule will stop update checks and downloads just as effectively as it stops sales notifications. Also check with your host that outbound HTTPS requests are permitted.
Seeing What Changed:
The Plugins screen carries a changelog for each release, so you can read what a version contains before deciding whether to install it now or snooze.
