WCT ships with a guided Setup Wizard that walks you through the essentials. New installs are redirected to it automatically the first time you activate the plugin, and you can re-run it whenever you like.
Three Ways To Open The Wizard:
- First install: activate the plugin and enter your license. You are redirected to the wizard once, and a blue welcome notice stays at the top of every WCT screen until setup is finished.
- Any time after: Settings tab, then the 🛠 Tools card, then 🪄 Re-run Setup Wizard.

What Each Step Covers:
- Welcome. Auto detects WordPress permalink problems and scans for URL shortener plugins that could fight WCT for the same slugs, including PrettyLinks, ThirstyAffiliates, YOURLS Link Creator, Link Whisper, Redirection and Simple 301 Redirects. Green means clear, red means action needed, and one click fixes are offered inline.
- First Tracking Link. A guided form with a live URL preview as you type. This step is optional, you can skip it and create links later from the Create tab.
- Attribution Model. Click anywhere radio cards for Last Click versus First Click, with plain English explanations of when each one is right.
- WarriorPlus. Only appears when the W+ Connect add on is installed. Shows both the vendor and the affiliate flow side by side, with per offer IPN URLs and global pixel URLs, each with a Copy button, plus a masked field for your IPN Verification Key.
- JVZoo. Only appears when the JVZoo Connect add on is installed. Gives you the JVZIPN URL with a Copy button and the exact path to your JVZIPN Secret Key inside JVZoo.
- Done. A launchpad with quick links to the Dashboard, Create More Links, Tracking Setup and Training.
Wizard Inputs Save To One Place:
Anything you type in the wizard writes to the same options the add on Security tabs use. Enter your W+ IPN Verification Key in the wizard and it appears, saved and masked, in W+ Connect, Security tab. Enter your JVZIPN Secret Key and it appears in JVZoo Connect, Security tab. There is no duplicate entry and no chance of the two disagreeing.
Secrets Stay Masked:
The wizard and the Security tabs both use the same masked input. Secrets display as dots by default with Show, Copy and Edit toggles, so your real keys never appear on screen by accident while you record training videos.
Dismissing The Welcome Notice:
If you would rather not see the blue welcome notice, click Dismiss this notice. It will not come back, and the wizard is still reachable from Settings.
