🔑 License Activation And Management

WP Conversion Tracker is a licensed plugin. Until a valid license is activated, the WPC Tracker menu shows only the activation screen and a warning notice on other admin pages.

Activating On A New Site:

  1. Install and activate the plugin. WordPress opens the license activation screen automatically.
  2. Enter your license key and the email address the license was issued to.
  3. Click Activate. The key is validated against the license server and this domain is registered against your license.
  4. Once activation succeeds, the full tab row appears and the Setup Wizard takes over.

Managing Your Activations:

Go to the Settings tab and open the 🔑 License card. It shows:

  • Your license key, masked.
  • License status, active or inactive.
  • The licensed email address.
  • Every activated domain, and how many activation slots are still free.

Freeing Up A Slot:

Click Deactivate License from the site you want to remove. That releases the slot and you can then activate the same key on a different domain. If a site is already gone and you cannot reach its admin, use Refresh License Info to re-sync the domain list from the server first.

Two Errors People Actually Hit:

  • Activation fails with a server error. Almost always the host is blocking outbound HTTPS requests. Check with your host that the site can make outbound calls.
  • Max activations reached. Deactivate from a domain you no longer use, or contact support.

What Happens If A License Lapses:

Updates require an active license. If the license expires, the tracking you already have in place keeps running, you simply stop receiving new versions until it is renewed.

A Note On The Public Feed:

The [wct_link_feed] shortcode is deliberately exempt from the license gate. If the license server is unreachable for any reason, your public feed pages keep rendering rather than printing raw shortcode text on the front end.
