A refunded sale should not keep counting as revenue. WCT records refunds and chargebacks when your sales platform reports them, takes them off your totals, and keeps the original sale visible in your history.
Which Platforms Report Refunds:
- WarriorPlus and JVZoo, through the live notification. JVZoo Connect can also pull in late refunds on affiliate sales.
- ClickBank, for refunds (RFND), chargebacks (CGBK) and insufficient funds (INSF).
- PayPal, for Refunded, Reversed and Denied payments.
- Stripe, through the Stripe Connect add on.
How A Refund Finds Its Sale:
Each platform names the original sale in its own way, so WCT compares every transaction ID the notification carries, such as the platform's sale ID, the payment processor's ID, the receipt number and the subscription payment ID, with the sales it has already recorded. That is how a refund still finds its sale when the sale was stored under the processor's ID. On a WarriorPlus subscription, a refund of one specific payment is applied to that payment. WCT can only reverse a sale it has recorded, so a refund for a sale WCT never saw is ignored.
What Changes When A Refund Arrives:
- A full refund or chargeback takes the sale's gross and net out of your totals, and the sale drops out of the sales count.
- A partial refund subtracts only the portion that was returned, with the net reduced in proportion.
- A cancelled subscription is flagged separately. No money moves, so your revenue is unchanged.
Refunds are applied from the moment their notification reaches WCT.
Where You See It:
- Dashboard. A Refunds card counts the sales that were fully refunded in the date range, and a Refund Rate card shows refunds as a percentage of all sales placed. Revenue cards and charts are already net of refunds. Both cards can be hidden.
- Link Stats. Refunds and Refund Rate for that link, and a Refunds tile on the Save as PDF report.
- Conversions tab. A fully refunded sale carries a red Refunded badge with its revenue struck through. A partial refund carries an amber Partial refund badge and shows how much came back.
Gross And Net Side By Side:
Gross is what the customer paid at checkout. Net is what you keep after payment fees and affiliate splits, with refunds taken off. On affiliate promotions the two can differ a lot, so WCT shows both. You will find them as Gross and Net columns on the Links tab, as Gross Revenue and Net Earnings on the Dashboard and Link Stats, and as Customer Spend and Your Net Take on the Conversions tab. Average Order Value is Gross Revenue divided by paid sales, so free leads are not counted.
