✏️ Editing Links Safely

Every field on a tracking link can be changed after the link is live. Go to the 🔗 Links tab and click ✏️ Edit on the row you want.

What You Can Change:

  • Link Name, Slug, Destination URL and Tracking Parameters.
  • Attribution Model for that specific link.
  • Folder assignment.
  • The 🧭 Navigation-only checkbox.
  • Sub-ID forwarding mode.
  • Tracking Pixel / Code.
  • Feed Title, Feed Description, Feed Image and the Do NOT show in Public Feed checkbox.

Click Update Link to save, or Cancel to go back without changing anything.

The Change That Breaks Things:

Changing the slug breaks every copy of the old URL that is already out in the world. Emails, ads, forum posts and affiliate pages pointing at the old slug will stop resolving. If the link has already been shared, create a new link instead and leave the old one alone.

Safe Changes You Can Make Any Time:

Swapping the Destination URL is safe and is one of the most useful things about running your own tracker. The public URL never changes, so you can repoint an old promotion at a new offer and every historic click stays attached to the same link. The same is true of tracking parameters, the feed fields and the pixel field.

Duplicate Slugs Are Blocked:

Older builds allowed you to save the same slug twice, which silently overwrote the earlier link. Current versions refuse the save and suggest an alternative such as myslug-2. If you inherited duplicate rows from a much older version, edit them by hand from the Links tab.

Deleting Versus Editing:

The delete button on the Links tab removes the link and all of its click and conversion data, and it asks for confirmation first. If you only want to stop using a link, repoint its destination or hide it from the feed rather than deleting it, so you keep the history.
