SparkPost is an enterprise grade service with strong delivery and detailed analytics. Setup is ordinary, with one catch worth knowing before you start: the US and EU services are separate systems.
Step by step:
- Create an account at sparkpost.com, or at the EU service if that is where your data must live.
- Add your sending domain and add the DKIM record it gives you to your DNS.
- Wait for the domain to verify.
- Create an API key with Transmissions permission.
- In ResultsAiX Mailer, open Delivery, then Sending, and add a connection.
- Choose SparkPost and paste the API key.
- If your account is on the EU service, tick EU endpoint.
- Set From name and From email to an address on the verified domain, save, and send yourself a test.
US or EU:
A key from the EU service is meaningless to the US service and the other way round. If you signed up through the EU site, or your dashboard address mentions EU, tick the EU endpoint box. Forgetting it produces an authentication failure on a key that is perfectly valid.
Keep it healthy:
- Set Daily limit to your plan allowance.
- Use Warmup on a new account.
- SparkPost reports bounces and complaints in detail. Feed that back into your list: clean with Verify Leads, and let the Mailer suppress hard bounces automatically.
Common problems:
- Authentication fails on a key you just created: wrong endpoint, US against EU.
- Refused for the sending domain: the domain is not verified, or the From address is on a different one.
