📋 Lists And How They Fill Up

A list is a named group of subscribers. Someone can belong to as many lists as you like.

Creating a list:

Go to AI Mailer, then Lists, then Create list. Give it a name and a short description. You can also set the sender profile that emails to this list use, and whether joining requires double opt-in confirmation.

Filling a list:

Lists fill up in several ways:

  • A CSV import, when you choose a list during the import
  • A form or popup on your website
  • The Add subscribers tool, which takes pasted email addresses, picks people from a search, or copies an existing list or segment
  • Automatic product lists, if the Launch Manager add on is present

The Add subscribers tool:

Click the plus icon on any list row. You get three ways to add people: paste a block of email addresses with optional tags, search your existing subscribers and tick the ones you want, or copy everyone from another list or segment in one go.

Subscriber counts:

Each list shows a live count of confirmed subscribers. The count updates automatically whenever people are added, removed or unsubscribed.

Unsubscribes are per list where it makes sense. Someone can leave one list and remain on another, unless they use the global unsubscribe link, which stops all mail and adds them to the suppression list.

Deleting a list:

Deleting a list removes the grouping and its memberships. It does not delete the subscribers themselves, who remain in your database and on any other lists they belong to.
